As we are right in the middle of planning our host theater’s 12th annual 12-hour Greenville Comedy Marathon on July 19th, we are also getting ready to open up submissions for this year’s New South Comedy Festival running November 5-9th! Here’s a look at a few of our headliners/instructors that have already been booked for November:
Seth K. Thomas is a seasoned sketch comedy writer and performer with over 25 years of experience in the industry. Trained at The Second City in Chicago, Seth brings a sharp, satirical, and authentic comedic voice to his work. Seth’s focus is on creating pure, unadulterated laughter rather than moral lessons. He won Best Sketch Group at the 2005 HBO Comedy Festival in Aspen with The Defiant Thomas Brothers, and recently earned the Producers’ Pick at the 2024 Toronto Sketchfest. Though Seth has explored rap music, improv, theater, and stand-up, sketch comedy is where his heart truly lies.
Veteran Chicago improvisers Tara DeFrancisco and Rance Rizzutto have been performing together for over a thousand shows and well over a decade. HERE is one of Chicago’s most lauded shows presenting the original two-person improvised musical. Chicago Tribune Critic-Recommended and called “Nothing Short of Genius” by NPR, this show has been brought to 14 countries and 40 cities worldwide.
